Lokta
Lokta botanically known as Daphne Bhoula or Daphne Papyracea, is an indegenous plant of Nepal. It is found at the altitude of 6500 feet to 9500 feet from the sea level. The bark of the Lokta is used as raw materials for the purpose of making since ages. Lokta plant is harvested by cutting its stem at ground level without destroying the main root. Lokta regenerates naturally and normally takes 2 to 3 years of time. Hence, there is no adverse effect on the forest ecology. It has properties of durability, strong, free from germs and highly resistant to the insects.

This stunning Photo Frame is handmade with Lokta paper and card. The front and back covers of this Photo Frame are made from Lokta paper over natural Strawboard. One 6″ x 4″ print can be placed in the aperture at the front of this frame. Lokta is a 100% sustainable resource as it is made from the bark of a plant which grows high in the Himalayas. The root system is not damaged so the plant grows back and is harvested on a rotational basis. A great birth gift or children/parents present to display a treasured photo ~or perhaps just a treat for yourself! The letters pattern is created by hand screen printing with chemical-free dye to stunning effect!
