Dipankara Buddha is represented widely in Kathmandu valley. Especially in the month of Gunla Festival many large sized images in bronze and coppers are displayed in Nepalese Buddhist monasteries. In Samyak festival Dipankara Buddha is the chief deity to be displayed and worshipped. Dipankara Buddha is usually yellow in color and exhibits Abayamudra and Varadamudra with his two hands. It is believed that Shakyamuni Buddha started his bodhisattva career after meeting with Dipankara Buddha.
