Black Manjushri

Black Manjushri Statue: Black Manjushri (Sanskrit: Krishna Manjushri and Tibetan: Jampel Nagpo) is the wrathful healing form of Manjushri, the Bodhisattva of wisdom. According to the Charya and Yoga Tantras; Manjushri first emanated in this form as a retinue deity in the mandala of the Buddha Vairochana. A popular meditational deity, the practice of Black Manjushri arrived in Tibet from India through the efforts of Bari Lotsawa Rinchen Drag (1040 – 1112). Black Manjushri’s practice is known to be highly effective in the wrathful purification of ignorance and negative karma. Black Manjushri’s practice is said to be highly effective against negative interferences, the harm and disturbances caused by black magic, nagas, zombies, and spirits, disturbances, negative astrological influences and other malevolent forces.

Black Manjushri’s (the image seen in this Black Manjushri Statue) practice is particularly beneficial for those suffering from so called “incurable” diseases such as AIDS and cancer, or those who are prone to negative emotions such as anger, depression, fear and denial which arise due to sickness or problems.
